Cells

You have an array (They are called "Cells" in BF) with unlimited numbers:
[2][59][6][0][0][0][0][1][2] //Numbers are randomly assigned
You can use > to move right(→) and < to move left(←)... Imagine you have a pointer(↑), now the pointer always starts at the first Cell:

[2][59][6][0][0][0][0][1][2]
 ↑

Now to move the pointer: >> (+2 steps)

[2][59][6][0][0][0][0][1][2]
        ↑

Adding and Subtracting

You can use (+) to increase the number and (-) to decrease it.
Now you can do this to make it more:

++ //(+2) [6+2=8]
[2][59][8][0][0][0][0][1][2]
        ↑

Now lets make the first cell([2]) equal to 0.

[2][59][8][0][0][0][0][1][2]
        ↑
<<
[2][59][8][0][0][0][0][1][2]
 ↑
--
[0][59][8][0][0][0][0][1][2]
 ↑

The code above (without seeing the cells) can be done like this:

Loops

Loops in BF are very important, loops helps you get big numbers fast eg. Lets say you have 2 cells [0][0]. You want cell 2 to have 97(Ascii value for 'a') within it. You can get it by simply doing this:

>++++++++++++++ //adding 97 "+" signs

Don't you think that looks like a lot of work, just having to spam +'s? Thats why you have loops!
Loops uses '[]' to work, everything inside [] will loop.
B-but Stephen-sensei, how will you stop the loop?
Well, that's where cell 1 comes in handy! Make cell 1 = 10 ([0][0]):

+++++ +++++ (cell 1 is now 10 - [10][0])

Now, add 10 to cell 2 inside the loop and remove 1 from cell 1. Once cell 1 = 0, the loop will stop running:

+++++ +++++ //Makes cell 1 = 10
[ //starts loop
>+++++ +++++ //adds 10 to cell 2 every time the loop runs
<- //removes 1 from cell 1 each time the loop runs
] //stop loop

B-but Stephen-sensei, now cell 2 is 100, not 97!
I'm getting to that, have some patience, geez!
Now, if you've been paying attention, you have probably already found the solution. Now outside the loop you just subtract the numbers you need, here is an example:

Wait, but why did you move the pointer, wasn't it on cell 2 already?
No! Once the loop runs for the last time, it makes cell 1 = 0, then stops the loop. It does not go back to cell 2 because you started with cell 2 or anything like that, the pointer moves back to cell 1 and stops the loop right there, that's why you have to move it back to cell 2 yourself.

Output

What use is the language if we can't see what we're doing? How do we get an output?
Very good question! Now, before I can tell you about outputs, you need to know that BF works off of Ascii values, so 97 will be an "a" or 32 will be a space.
Note: You do not need to know ascii values, you can just use an converter, but it's always useful to know them just in case...
Now, you can get an output simply by adding a "." wherever you want to see the output:

NO! It should be 97, not 'a'!
BF prints whatever the ascii value is you give it, meaning it converts 97 into "a"!
Liar! How do you get numbers then?
All numbers have ascii values as well, for example, 0's ascii value is 48 and 5's ascii value is 53.

Input

No programming language is truly at its fullest potential without an input option! To get an input, place an "," wherever you want it, for example:

This code asks the user what their name is and allows them to give an input.
This code might seem complex, but as you get better at BF, this will become super easy.

Comments

Comments in BF is very easy, you can use anything except for: +-[].,>< as a comment for example:

This is a comment
//This is also a comment
#This too
(this too!)

There is an exception for the (+-[].,><) where you can use them in a comment. Before you begin coding, you are allowed to use a loop [] as a comment holder eg:

[This comment may contain +-[],.>< because it is before the code]
