Ever since I started to use SoloLearn it seemed to me like the community was like a ginormous programming team. Different ideas, skill levels, personalities, etc. Like a real team. So why not try the following…Any other ideas for an approach is more than welcome! (Even a different world record topic)

Goal: Attempt a world record for programming team size made up of SoloLearn users
To get the world record we would have to research what constitutes a programming team to make sure we qualify
Key to this is: simplicity, at least for member submitted code. We want to include all levels
SL website says we have 19 million members
Any SoloLearn language that can be executed in the playground can be used as one of the user submissions
1. We will need to assess the viability of the following and consider it a challenge
  1. A single external program (run from our own device) that runs, inputs, and screen scrapes a large list of user code URLs
  2. Each user program will appear to be a module/function that accepts an input, processes or does nothing(ignores) it and outputs a alphanumeric string
  3. The external program runs SL code and enters input -> External program screen scrapes output as input to run to the next SL code -> External program screen scrapes output as input to run to the next SL code -> … until world record is achieved
This would be funny enough, but let’s make it so the last output is 42 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/42_(number)#The_Hitchhiker.27s_Guide_to_the_Galaxy)... you can vote that out if you like.

Note that we can have multiple submissions of 42 programs and just place them without considering that it does and can say the whole thing converges to 42 (as part of the humor). Just make sure the last one prints 42

The participating program need not be complex… Example… say a beginner in Python writes:

a=input()
print(a+" don't give up")

and the input to a is “Hi” so “Hi don’t give up” is fed to the next program which happens to be Python and it always prints “42”:

b=input()
print(42)

Each SL code can be simple for beginners or complex as long as we accept a single string input and write a single string output that can be scraped
