Do’s & Don’ts of the Question Forum

New to sololearn? Welcome. This code will help you ask good questions and get the answers you need from Sololearn's q&a. If you would like more information, visit the Sololearn website here.

Do's

Give a good Title: Your title should tell what your question is about but not ask the question.

Add Relevant Tags: Tags are almost as important as the title. Your tags should include the language your question is about and other key words. Try to keep the number of tags under five.

Add Code Links: If you have a question about a code, put the link for the code in the description. Make sure it is the code for the link. Just copying and pasting the code drives everyone crazy.

Question Description: Make sure you state your question clearly, describing exactly what your problem is.

Marking Best: When you get the answer to your question, mark it as best. Remember, marking the best answer is to help to other people who might have the same question.

Don'ts

Question in Title: Do Not ask your question in the title.

Bad Tags: Do Not put links or the question in the tags. Nor should you add irrelevant tags or random languages in the tags.

Random Links: Do Not advertise anything or put links that are not directly related to your question.

Irrelevant Question: Do Not ask questions that are not coding or sololearn related.

Marking your Answer Best: Do Not mark your own answer as best unless you truely answered your own question. Never mark your 'Thank you' as best.

Extra Tips

What Language: If you speak English well, ask your question in English. If you do not speak English well, ask in another language you speak well. The next best languages are Hindi and Spanish, then German and Russian. Do Not use Google Translate if you can help it.

Mentioning: Mention people only when you believe they can help you. Do Not mention random people.

One Question: Do Not ask multiple questions in one thread. If you have multiple questions create multiple threads.

Try Yourself: Try to find the answer yourself before asking. If it is about coding, search online. If is about Sololearn, then search your question and add Sololearn to the end of it. If you cannot find the answer to your question and you ask your question on Sololearn, add a summary of what you have already tried. It shows the answerers you are not just being lazy and it can help them answer your question.

No Hacking: Do Not ask how to hack any social media, games, or any other accounts on Sololearn. You will not get a helpful answer.
