The modern world revolves around design because it makes your product stand out. The better your design, the better your company is what our brain subjects to think.

We love it

Programmers in the web/app development field loves design. Many UX developers are into CSS, and are marveled in hobbies like photography and graphic design.

What we consider

In design, we consider many different components. Fonts, colors, accessibility, and theme. What colors attract our audience? Fonts? Do we use plentiful animations, or simpler transitions? Playful or professional? Images, graphics, or none? Does our site look great and also comply with all accesibility guidelines?

Craft your portfolio

Elite developers have their own web portfolio and usually creates their resume in HTML/CSS/JS.

Create.

Why it matters

Copying code is not going to cut it. Otherwise, companies would use WordPress. They hire web designers, to create a unique environment that stands out to the audience. Ever seen those ads that just get your attention, while you daydream during the others? In webpages, the same concept applies. Same old website, but looks amazing? It has to be extremely amazing to get the attention of the reader.

We love it

Making something new and out of the box is a favorite for many! No one ever imagined CSS can create 3D images. It can definitely do so! Check it out for proof.

Being creative

When the HTML/CSS technologies first came out, people barely used it. Most sites looked like a Microsoft Word document. Check out some examples!

Build a project

Make something new that no one has ever seen before. Whether it is a game in pure HTML/CSS, or a JavaScript library so useful and never imagined before!

Develop.

Why it matters

You need a language where you can identify clicking, scrolling, typing, and other events. You need a language where you can store information temporarily in the client, repeat processes to minimize code, and create functions to reuse again. This is JavaScript, and the DOM makes the web amazing!

We love it

A website would be so much better, if you can create interaction. Start off simple... lets say a dropdown menu or a tab system. Or maybe get a little bit fancy and create scrolling animations. Whatever it is, these props make your website amazing, and CSS can't do it by itself.

In 1998, when JavaScript was made (learn more here), people loved it so much that they even tried to replace CSS with JS syntax! Weird, right?

Love JavaScript? It is inefficient and tough, but replace all HTML/CSS (except backbone tags like html, head, etc. and the script tag of course) with JavaScript. It's possible, but you soon realize it can get ridiculously slow if you use innerHTML. Research other JS tricks and get it done!

When I say write, I don't just mean text. But what your readers see. This includes: text, images, graphics, fonts, colors, animations, video, audio, simulations, etc. Bringing your reader engaged with your site is most important.

Include social share and follow buttons
Implement calls-to-action
Use the right imagery that works for your audience
Create a navigation that guides users through your site
Let your visitors scroll on your homepage
Don't be afraid of white space
Stay mobile friendly
Focus on SEO
Never stop testing
Find and fix 404s
Create unique offerings
Create content for your persona
