Pronounciation

Pronounciation is one of the most important part. It is useless if we can't talk.
There are five vowels in Japanese: a, i, u, e, o

-a (あ/ア column): [a:/a]
-i (い/イ column): [i/i:/ɪ]
-u (う/ウ column): [u/u:]
-e (え/エ column): [e/ɛ]
-o (お/オ column): [ɒ/ɑ]

Hiragana (平ひら仮が名な)

There are 46 basic sounds in total (Not including Voiced sound and Youon)

Reminder:

し (shi) isn't pronounced as 'si' but 'shi'
ち (chi) isn't pronounced as 'ti' but 'chi'
つ (tsu) isn't pronounced as 'tu' but 'tsu'

There is no yi, ye, wi, wu and we
The 'r' sounds in ら (r-) row isn't pronounced as 'r' but more like 'l'

Katakana is usually used to form foreign languages.

Reminder:

じジ is pronounced in the same way as ぢヂ

Youon (拗よう音おん)

Sounds in い column with a ゃ/ャ, ゅ/ュ or ょ/ょ makes youons, the symbols are smaller than normal:

Sokuon (促そく音おん)

If there is a sokuon (っ/ッ) after a sound, the sound before will be shortened. Same as youons, the っ/ッ are smaller than normal.
Example:

切手きって (stamp)
明後日あさって (the day after tomorrow)
ロケット (rocket)

Chouon (長ちょう音おん)

Chouon makes the vowel sound longer.
Hiragana: The vowel sound is longer when the vowel is repeated:

Sometimes ええ and おお sound like Chouon too.
Examples:

お母かあさん (mother)
魔法まほう (magic)
掃除機そうじき (vacuum cleaner)

Katakana: A lot easier than hiragana's. 'ー' represents the chouon, the vowel sounds turn longer.
Examples:

タクシー (taxi)
ラーメン (ramen)
チーズ (cheese)

Except the hiragana and the katakana I have mentioned on the top before, the are still some special sounds for us to form foreign words.

After learning every sounds, you should now learn some vocabularies. When learning, read the vocabularies thrice so that you can clearly remember them.

Time, a crucial part in our life. Therefore, we should know how to express time.

Months

If you have learnt the numbers above well, you will handle this part well. We just have to put the number 1-12 before 月がつ to form 12 months. (し、しち、く are used to represent 4, 7 and 9)
