How to Receive Eternal Life

That's right, we have all heard of heaven and hell, but have we really come to the pysicality of it? They are real places and we are bound to go to one of them after we die. Would you rather live for ever in a perfect place or live for ever in torment?!

Well, there is good news called the Gospel. No doubt, we have all heard of Jesus, but how much do we really know about Him? Did you know He is God's Son? There is something called the Holy Trinity — God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Those three together are God...similar to the way an egg is: it has three parts, but it, together, are an egg. Although it may be a childish example I think it gets the message across fairly well.

There are a few key points to understand and they go as follows:

Realize God loves you

John 3:16 from God's Word says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

The Bible says that all men are sinners

Romans 3:23 from God's Word says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

God's Word also says that sin must be paid for

Romans 6:23 from God's Word says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

The good news is that Christ paid for our sins

Romans 5:8 from God's Word says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

We must personally pray and receive Christ, by faith, as our Savior

Romans 10:13 from God's Word says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Now that we have seen what the Bible says about eternal life, we should do some clarifying. Jesus Christ came to earth and lived a sinnless life – meaning he didn't do anything wrong. He was still God. Since He lived this sinnless life, He was able to willingly die the most cruel death so that we may have His perfect account. With this pure account, we may then be able to enter into the kingdom of heaven after we die. Jesus took our sins as if they were His and paid for them. The only way a sinner could pay for his own sins (even if somehow he only did one wrong thing in his lifetime) would be to be punished for eternity in hell.

God doesn't want this for anyone so He provided a way, through the death of His Son, so that mankind may spend for ever in His presence. All you have to do to accept this FREE gift is to talk to God and apologise for the wrongs you have done and to accept the price Jesus has paid for you.
