What Language Should You Try

Introduction

So I do my attempt to try to answer on the Discuss Tab ALWAYS see the question "What language should I learn", I have made this to explain what each code does, and what it is used for. Hopefully this can help you choose what language is best for you, or what you should choose to learn next. Under each language, there will be a text that says "Link" when you click that link, it will take you to SoloLearns course. C++

According to a user from Quora , C++ can be used for making software such as Operating Systems, Compilers, and more. From my personal expierence with CPP, I used a compiler called Codeblocks, and when I was using C++, I learned that game engines do not take it. If you would like to make a game using Unity, They do not take CPP. However, UnrealEngine uses CPP. In Conclusion, if you are wanting make compilers or if you are wanting to make games with Unreal Engine, this is what you should learn. A couple of things that were made with CPP: Mozilla FireFox, JVM, Photoshop, and more!

Java

NOT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR JAVASCRIPT
According to Roseindia , Java is object-oriented, that is used to build modular programs and reusable code in other application. Java has the ability to be multithreaded which means that there can be several tasks simulated into one program. You may have seen a popup saying "You have to update Java" this is because Java helps runs plugins on your computer; and according to Chron : Java can be run securely on nearly any other platform, regardless of the operating system or architecture of the device, as long as the device has a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. Things made with Java: Some parts of Minecraft, Eclipse, Many Smartphone Apps, and more!

Python

Python is recommended for people that are just getting into programming because the syntax is really simple, and the code is really organized. According to Python.org Some of the uses of Python include but not limited to: Web development, Frameworks, JSON, Email Processing, Applications, and more! I have never tried Python but I was recommended in school (I am still in high school) to take a class in it. So if you are still in high school, you can take a course that teaches Python.

JavaScript

JavaScript is a very useful and known Scripting language for many of reasons. If you master JavaScript, it will help you if you are trying to make a website, but if you are not wanting to make a website, but a game rather, you do have the ability to do that! I personally have a certificate in SoloLearn's "JavaScript", and at first it does seem a little bit much, but it is REALLY easy to use and if you are wanting to make a web game or something I recommend learning JavaScript.

PHP

According to W3Schools , Personal Home Page (PHP) is a server scripting language, and a powerful tool for making dynamic and interactive Web pages. However, when I was doing research for this category, it does seem that there are people that dislike PHP, just know that it is more used than what people make it seem. It is used for making Web Applications that have to deal with server types of things It is said that PHP uses a lot of framework.

C#

Note: The game engine "Unity" uses "C#" BUT though they are alike, they are NOT the same thing. Unity's C# uses components from C# and their own addons. Unity's version of C# is called "UnityScript"
According to Infragistics: Using Microsoft Framework, C# has the ability to make a lot of things. Like TCP/IP servers to the Raspberry Pi, and everything in between! C# also has the ability to make web and mobile applications.

Swift (Fundamentals)

Swift can be summed in one sentence : It is used to make mobile applications. However, according to Blog.pusher , It gives developers the ability to shape a young language. And it is "built with the future in mind". However, according to Swift.org you can use Swift to make applications on Linux and Apple products.

Ruby

Along with Python, Ruby is something people advise that you try to learn first. (If you need help with deciding on which one, I found this blog Ruby is something that is multipurposed, according to the blog, companies that use Ruby include but are not limited to are: Hulu, Twitter, ZenDesk, Basecamp, Shopify, Urban Dictionary, GitHub. Ruby is also very easy to read, and is "less object-oriented, but still can be object oriented.". Ruby is known for Web Framework; But can also be used for stuff like Picture recognition software, and so much more!

HTML

The source for these, are from experience I'm even using HTML to make this!
HyperText Markup Language, is a document NOT LANGUAGE BECAUSE OF THE "Markup" part it is used to make websites. It goes along with CSS and JavaScript to make a website unique. There is more than just "html" there is Html5 which enables audio and stuff like that. Which the SoloLearn course does go over. However, The SoloLearn course also goes over some things that HTML5 no longer supports, though it will tell you if that's the case, if a website was made before HTML5, be warned that some features were removed.

CSS Fundamentals

This is also from experience, I haven't taken the course, but when I work on HTML, I see a lot about CSS Cascading Style Sheets, or CSS is something that helps with HTML because it allows the developers to allow different styles. whether that would be color or fontsize or so much more! There is more to CSS like web animations, but it is a really easy to learn!

SQL Fundamentals

Structured Query Language, also known as "SQL" is something that helps with XML because it helps with regional database systems. A example of a query and what this language might be used for is : "if you have an employee table, you might issue a SQL statement that returns the employee who is paid the most" [ Source ]

In Conclusion

In Conclusion, we can say that if you are looking for a new language to learn, that it all depends on what you are wanting to do. Whether that would mean make your own game , website, application, or if you are just trying to gain more knowledge: Everyone has there own preference on what language they should learn next.
