About Me

I'm Jay. Computers have interested me since I was as young as 5 years old. Back then I was playing games such as Lego Island, and as I grew up, I was fascinated at how the processes worked, and how computers functioned - even simple things such as the colour changing slowly interested me! I was also very good a problem solving from a young age so this coupled with my interest in computing led me to study for a degree in Maths and Computer Science (Dual Hons). Whilst I was at University, I learned my first programming language - Java, followed by others such as JavaScript, PHP, SQL and C++. I also learned that programming was only part of building and maintaining a successful project, since you have to have a design methodology, and the knowledge to get it done, as well as knowing architectural patterns and best practices whilst programming.

I downloaded SoloLearn in March 2015. Back then, SL consisted of several small apps such as "Learn HTML" and "Learn CSS", I was interested at the way SoloLearn was designed and how it was very easy for one to learn coding on the go! It enabled me to re-learn web programming. Quickly the apps improved over a number of months which then led to the SoloLearn app we all know and love today. I have met amazing people on here from all different walks of life and i've never enjoyed an app so much.
