The Fire of God

Oh, fire of God,
Let me not be a lump of clod.
Set my soul ablaze.
To Thee only shall I praise.

Not some smoldering ember
That none will remember,
But send me a spark
That I may leave my mark.

A full and flaring flame,
Not for any personal fame,
But for shedding light on Thee,
The Savior Who died for me on Calvary.

So others may see what Thou hast done
And the battles for me Thou hast won.
A bright and shining light
Known to always do what is right.

The precious blood Thou has spilt
Is what fuels my flame to ne’er wilt.
Give me a passion unquenchable
For the lost souls innumerable!
