When building and designing a website, choosing the right the color scheme is very important. There are several main types of color schemes; Complementary color scheme, Monochromatic color scheme and Analogous color scheme, Triadic color scheme, and Tetradic color scheme

A Complementary color scheme is two colors on oppisite ends of the color wheel.

A Monochromatic color scheme is when you choose one color and ajust the tones to be lighter or darker.

Analogous color scheme is two colors on either side of of one color on the color wheel

A Triadic color scheme is the colors that are all evenly spaced on the color wheel

Artist's have used the color wheel for many years. In fact, Sir Issac Newton is credited with creating it in 1706 when he arranged colors together on a disk, and when it was spun all the human eye sees is white. This is a color wheel from 1874, and was created by Wilhelm von Bezold.
