Moderators are part of a team that welcomes and supports new members, ensures that our Community Guidelines are upheld, and adds to the already rich conversations across the forum. Moderators are key to keeping SoloLearn safe, valuable, and fun for all members.
What are the attributes of a Moderator?
Demonstrate a positive behavior within the community
Communicate with others in a patient and fair way
Lead by example
Support and respect fellow community members
Report suspicious activities and users
Understand and carry out the Community Guidelines

Qualified future moderators

Qualified SoloLearners will be contacted by a Platinum Moderator with an invitation to be part of a Moderation Team. You may also be contacted directly by our staff.

As a Moderator, your goal is to help us keep SoloLearn safe. Within the moderation team, you will have the opportunity to achieve Gold Moderator status and then ultimately Platinum Moderator status, where you will curate content and recruit your own moderation teams.
Responsibilities

Moderator

Report suspicious activity and users through moderator reports, which are prioritized over other reports.
Block profiles that violate Community Guidelines (after submission of 3 moderator reports)
Hide posts, comments, and code samples, as needed (after submission of 3 moderator reports)
Communicate with the team through a special Moderation Team chat room

Gold Moderator

Hide questions, answers, and comments with one click at your discretion
Label answers as solved
Designate code samples as private
Hide posts or threads that contradict the Community Guidelines
Edit user posts when necessary

Platinum Moderator
Recruit new moderators
Supervise new recruits during their probation period
Determine if downvotes are violating community rules. *ONLY Platinum Moderators can view who has downvoted.
Influence trending lists. The upvote or downvote of a Platinum Moderator has more weight than a general upvote/downvote. Trending lists are generated based on upvotes and SoloLearn’s content team relies on trends to determine featured content.
Hide code that violates Community Guidelines at your discretion.
Access all community activities at the highest level with no possibility of being blocked.
Organize meetups, workshops, and trainings representing SoloLearn in a specific area.

Content Creation Guidelines

How to Create A Lesson.
>Plagarizing Codes (defined)
The rule is simple. "Do not commit plagiarism". If the code is not your code, make sure the author's name is on it. If the author doesn't want it to be copied by anyone (even if credit is given), then you cannot copy it, even if you give credit.
If someone's code is copied, and they come to the mods and tell us that they do not want their code to be displayed by other users (even with credit given), then we will set all of the copied versions of that author's code to private, permanently.
