Displaying HTML Tags in a Page

In order to display html tags in a web page it is necessary to use a preformatted block to display the code. Below is an example of a simple page layout. Note that it is necessary to replace all reserved characters, such as tag delimiters, with their corresponding code entities.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Page Title</title>
  </head>
  <body>
      // Place your text here.
  </body>
</html>

If you only wish to show a tag inline then you can use the <code> tag. Remember that you still need to escape all of the reserved characters though.
