What is This ?

The ant of Langton is a little algorithme which describes an ant moving on the squares of a grid. The rules are really simplest but the results aren't...

Rules :

You just need a grid, on a paper and take a pen. All the cases of the grid can be black or white, but in our case, they all will be white. Put an arrow in the middle of your grid on a case, and it will be your ant. the arrow represents also the direction of your ant.

How the ant moves :

If the ant is on a white case, she moves in the left direction.
If she is on a black case, she moves in the right direction. The ant reverse the color of his case :
if it's white, it's become black and conversly.

Details :

0-500 steps : the ant do geometrical figure.
500-13 000 : the ant become crazy and turn in all directions.
13 000+ : the ant make stair infinitly... how and why ? we don't know...
