Entities

Entities let us display reserved characters. It allows us to do things like demonstrate lines of code within our HTML document. To display the reserved character, you can either use &entity_name; or &#entity_number;.

One example is the less than and greater than symbols. We achieve this by replacing the < and > symbols with &lt(<) and &gt(>)

Example Output:

This is a paragraph.

<p>This is a paragraph.</p>

(This is how it would be typed.)

&ltp&gtThis is a paragraph.&lt/p&gt

This is a strong text.

<strong>This is a strong text.</strong>

You can create the & symbol with &.

That's how I managed to demonstrate the &lt. I simply typed &lt.
